Suncoast Writers Guild, a 501 (c) (7) based in Englewood, Florida, provides a supportive community for writers of all genres and levels. Founded in 1990, we have a long tradition of exchanging ideas about writing as well as constructive feedback. Our members learn from one another and from guest speakers. We hold five monthly meetings. On the first Saturday of every month, we have a business meeting, followed by a program with a guest speaker. On the second and fourth Friday, we hold Poetry Pod meetings. Our Long Writers group meets on the second Saturday. On the third Saturday of each month, we meet for a Readers Workshop. To learn more about our various meetings, visit our Meetings page.
Receive constructive feedback from fellow writers during workshops, learn from guest speakers, publish in our biannual anthology and our monthly newsletter, display your book(s) in area libraries, enjoy informal monthly dinners at local restaurants. Cost of membership is just $25 annually.
Our Guild is active on many levels within the broader community, working with schools, libraries and arts organizations. We also offer many opportunities for members to share their work and gain greater exposure. Learn more on our Community page.
