Who we are
Suncoast Writers Guild, Inc., a 501 (c) (7) based in Englewood, Florida, provides a supportive community for writers of all genres and levels. Founded in 1990, we have a long tradition of exchanging ideas about writing as well as constructive feedback. Our members learn from one another and from guest speakers.
Our Purpose is:
- to bring together, in a professional setting, persons interested in the art and business of writing.
- to exchange ideas regarding the art and business of writing .
- to provide an effective support system for those who want to improve their writing.
- to provide helpful feedback and educational opportunities to both writers and the community.
We hold four monthly meetings:
- On the first Saturday of every month, we have a business meeting, followed by a program with a guest speaker.
- On the second Friday, we hold Poetry Pod meetings.
- Our Long Writers group meets on the second Saturday.
- On the third Saturday of each month, we meet for a Readers Workshop.
